S Track VS L Track Massage Chairs
Which part of the massage chair is L-Track and S-Track referencing?
Rollers, Rollers, Rollers!
S-Track
Follows the natural curvature of the spine allowing for a more comfortable experience. Some of the earliest versions of massage chairs were a straight line and were not as smooth or enjoyable as they are now. This track length goes from the top of the neck to the lower back as shown in the image. This is a common and basic version most massage chairs on the market have. There are no longer straight-line massage chairs on the market today.
L-Track
The L-Track models are just an extension of the S-Track. The main difference being that the rollers go from the neck to the back and down to the hamstring or glute area ( depending on the massage chair company). This model has a notably longer track. Previous models of massage chairs only had airbags in this area. This model can also be referred to as the extended roller track by some massage chair companies. This track is expert recommended for those with pelvic muscle issues, sciatic and chronic hip pain.
Which track is better?
It depends on your body's pain points. Neither is superior to the other. L-Track is the obvious longer track, but this can mean it is also more on the pricy side. Generally speaking, it's always better to go for the massage chair that covers more muscles in the body aka the L-Track, but is not a necessary feature especially if you don't commonly have pain in the hips, glutes, or hamstrings. This is where going with the S-Track can save you some money. It's all about your preference and where you experience the most amounts of pain in your body.
